LA Beatmaker Knxwledge Drops a Fresh Instrumental in Advance of New Album

A forthcoming full-length on Stones Throw is due this spring.

It’s been just over three years since LA producer Knxwledge released Buttrskotch, his last proper full-length project, but that’s by no means the only output he’s blessed us with. Since 2009, the beatmaker known as Glen Earl Boothe has released over 100 tracks through his Bandcamp page, as well as a critically acclaimed project with Anderson Paak called NxWorries that birthed the epic Yes Lawd! LP.

Now he’s back at it on the solo tip with a new track, “Do You,” the first material from a forthcoming solo album due this spring on Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw imprint. The instrumental jam is pure feelgood, West Coast vibes, heavy on the keys with a jazzy flourish on the 15th bar that will have you twisting up your nose and giving your best funk face.

You can listen to the track here and stay up on all his Knxwledge instrumentals on his Bandcamp.

One Man’s Journey From Los Angeles to Tijuana in a Kayak

When Andrew Szabo, a 46-year-old Manhattan Beach entrepreneur, told his wife that his midlife crisis involved the purchase of an ocean kayak and the desire to paddle from MB to Tijuana, her reaction was simple: “Have a good trip, and make sure your life insurance premiums are paid.” What followed were three months of intense preparations, a life-changing journey and becoming part of the global battle to raise awareness for tuna overfishing.
