On July 24 and 25, Californians will converge on the Rose Bowl for the first ever Arroyo Seco Weekend. Following in the festival footsteps of mammoth music beasts like Coachella, Stagecoach and Bottle Rock, the new kid on the block already promises a power house of talent, including headliners Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Mumford & Sons, not to mention Alabama Shakes, Weezer, The Shins and many more.
While our ears already anticipate an incredible show, our mouths are equally excited about the selection of food offerings also coming to the venue. The event specifically curated restaurants and chefs from all over Southern California, not to mention craft beers, cocktails and bio-dynamic wines. There are some heavy hitters here, and a nice cross section of Los Angeles’ booming and eclectic food scene.
Here are few highlights:
Barrels & Ashes
A chef-driven barbecue restaurant in Studio City. The menu focuses on family-style service with daily specials from the chefs, drawing from their travels and cherished family recipes.
Broken Spanish
Broken Spanish follows the evolution of its chef, Ray Garcia. An amalgamation of the classically trained chef, born and raised in Los Angeles, with the powerful influence of a Latin upbringing. Drawing inspiration and flavors from a diverse community, the restaurant offers an experience that is unique, characteristic and beautiful.
Raman Hood
A vegan ramen shop located in Downtown LA’s historic Grand Central Market that is 100% vegan.
République
Located in mid-city, this popular eatery is owned by Chef Walter Manzke and Chef Margarita Manzke. République builds on a storied past, offering a gastronomic environment imbued with history and grandeur.
Rose Café
This iconic restaurant is in the heart of Venice, serving locals and travelers alike since 1979. Now, 36 years later, Chef Jason Neroni has kept the roots of the Rose that the community knows and loves, while introducing his seasonal, globally influenced cuisine.
Sawyer
A seafood-focused seasonal California restaurant, located in Silver Lake that offers guests an airy garden atmosphere.
Wexler’s Deli
From the duo of Chef Micah Wexler and partner Michael Kassar, Los Angeles’ acclaimed Wexler’s Deli was born of a desire to serve classic Jewish deli food, which is why all their signature meat and fish are cured, smoked and sliced using old school methods in-house. With Wexler’s Deli, Michael and Micah take the traditional deli back to its roots and provide a place of community, pride, familiarity and quality.
800 Degrees
Neapolitan-style pizza made-for-you and ready in about a minute.
The venues are scheduled to open at noon each day. All ages are welcome.
