Small town. Big business.

Just across the Nevada boarder, about 60 miles south of Las Vegas, the small city of Nipton, California, is only a few miles from the I-15, though most travelers between Sin City and SoCal aren’t likely to swing through. At least for now.
The city has a new owner. And he’s looking to transform Nipton into a “first-of-its-kind eco-tourism experience for conscious cannabis consumers.”
David Gywther, who bought the 80-acre town for $5 million last year, is also the chairman and president of American Green, the largest publically traded cannabis company in the country. He’s hoping to draw tourists to a revived, pot-centric destination.
According to a story on NPR, “The company plans to start by bottling water (from a nearby aquifer) infused with CBD, the cannabis component linked to relieving pain and inflammation.”
And from there, American Green hopes to attract like-minded companies to set up shop—CBD and mineral baths, dispensaries, artist-in-residence programs, culinary events and bed-and-breakfasts—“to complete the charming small town experience.”
Why This California Golf Course Is One of the Best in the Country
Not a bad position for a 90-year-old legend.
