dineL.A. announced the anticipated return of dineL.A. Restaurant Week for its summer season, taking place from September 1 through September 18, 2020. The multi-week dining event, which traditionally occurs twice a year, will feature nearly 300 restaurants throughout Los Angeles highlighting the city’s eclectic and inspiring culinary landscape. Differentiating this dineL.A. Restaurant Week from past iterations is a central focus on al fresco, takeout and delivery to reinforce socially distant dining while still enjoying dineL.A.’s core tenet of delectable budget-conscious options. Now more than ever, dineL.A. is dedicated to its support of L.A.’s vibrant food scene, aligning to offer value-driven menus for lunch, dinner and nearly every dining experience. With the restaurant community in constant flux due to the COVID-19 pandemic, dineL.A. has expanded beyond restaurant walls to provide diners ‘A Menu For That’ moment—whether a special occasion, family picnic, day trip, or even, dinner on the couch—understanding that food ties us together, both chef to diner and restaurant to city.
2020 Summer dineL.A. Restaurant Week will continue to build on its established program of lunch and dinner menus with the addition of family meal kits and more. Restaurants such as Sushi|Bar, The Milky Way and Severance Wine Bar will offer affordable yet encompassing experiences ideal for groups such as picnic boxes, fondue kits and ‘at home’ omakase. Broad Street Oyster Company, Tam O’Shanter and Uovo will add to the roster of restaurants offering multi-course options that are perfectly paired to be enjoyed al fresco soaking up the city’s summer weather. And with a focus on delivery and takeout given the radically altered COVID-19 landscape, a new crop of restaurants are able to get in on the dineL.A. action for the first time including delivery-focused concepts (Ggiata Delicatessen); pop-ups (Bar Restaurant’s ‘Valet Parking’); or fast-casual favorites (Pikunico Fried Chicken and Sky’s Gourmet Tacos).
“We know that Los Angeles is dining out differently now and are deeply aware of the impact that COVID-19 has had on all of our favorite restaurants,” says Stacey Sun, Executive Director of dineL.A. “We felt it was critical to reimagine dineL.A. to complement that reality and encourage diners to keep enjoying meals together even if it may not be within the structural walls of a restaurant. This dineL.A. Restaurant Week, we’re asking everyone to unite to support L.A.’s restaurant community.”
With a multitude of new dining formats, 2020 Summer dineL.A. Restaurant Week offers value-driven menus for every taste and social event. Moving to a more flexible program means dineL.A. Restaurant Week is the ideal activity to inspire summertime exploring – using the city’s diverse food community as a means to traverse Los Angeles, discover something delicious and support local businesses all at the same time—as well as revisit longstanding favorites. Lunch menus range $15-$35, with dinner menus priced $25-$65+. Untraditional dineL.A. pricing models will also be available dependent on the restaurant offer. Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity. Menus may be subject to change due to seasonal availability of ingredients.
