Brothers Jonathan and Michael Rosen describe their chemistry as “without inhibition” and “amazing,” which flies in the face of famous rock siblings like the Robinson brothers (The Black Crowes), the Gallagher brothers (Oasis), and the Langdon brothers (Spacehog), who all famously squabbled (and toured together) during their storied careers. Together the Rosen brothers form the group Cones, who recently released the single “Moonstone” off their forthcoming debut full-length, Pictures of Pictures, set to drop on Dangerbird Records on September 20.
Described by some as one-half Bee Gees mixed with one-half Tame Impala, Cones are soft rock auteurs, and “Moonstone” is pure Sunday afternoon PCH material. The video, which features hand-drawn animation from Jonathan, recently premiered via Paste Magazine, and the album is available for preorder here.
Says Jonathan, “The song is about having a strong connection with somebody that you’ve only briefly met, and ultimately parting ways with the mutual acceptance that you are unlikely to cross paths again.” Dig in and watch the video here, and stay up-to-date with all things Cones at their website.
